During my tour of regional airports for a study on terminal buildings I also stopped at Luxembourg airport - and spotted a quite innovative solution for the design of the boarding gate counter there. When the counter is not used it is just an unobtrusive closed box that contains all the necessary equipment and materials. For boarding purposes the box is opened and can be used immediately. It saves space and holds a myriad of alternative design options...
