The ae-blog is a rather informal extension of the Airport Excellence-web site www.airport-excellence.com. It is a place to share my experience and my thoughts on various aviation topics with you and, most importantly, get to know what you think. I want to discuss interesting developments and ideas with you, present noteworthy airports that caught my attention, and regularly have interesting guest contributors from all backgrounds who share their opinion on diverse aviation-related topics.
I, by the way, am Max Schintlmeister, founder and Managing Director of Airport Excellence S.L. After several years with Vienna International Airport in operational and strategic functions and after working as an independent airport consultant thereafter, I finally founded my own company back in 2007. I worked as a project manager, business planner, market analyst and operations planner in various airport privatization and development projects all over the world (Berlin, New Delhi, Mumbai, Malta, Ciudad Real, Belgrade, Vienna, Sheremetyevo, etc.) and thereby recognized all the unused potential and innovative ideas catching dust in people’s drawers and minds. Airport Excellence S.L. wants to take these ideas and help make them reality. We do business development, business plan relaunches and develop the next generation airport.
